Postnatal & Bub - 6 week program
The body undergoes huge change during pregnancy and childbirth and at Butterfly Yoga our Postnatal Yoga classes are excellent for bringing structural integrity back to your body. We focus on helping to rebuild core strength, providing comfort and stability for the lower back and pelvis, strengthening the abdominal area and opening for the chest and shoulders which often become tight through feeding and carrying. Our classes have both an energising and relaxing effect on mums and provide a warm and supportive environment to bond with your baby and meet other mums. Although much of the emphasis is on mum, our Mum & Bub classes also include gentle yoga stretches, music and rhymes for the babies which all help to aid sleep. Our Postnatal & Bub classes are suitable at least 6 weeks after the birth. If you have had a caesarean section, then we recommend 8-10 weeks. As always, the most important thing is to listen to your body, if you are in any pain or discomfort, just wait a few weeks. |
During the class there is no pressure for you or your little one to do anything that’s uncomfortable and there’s no need to have any yoga experience either. Our classes are suitable for all levels of yoga practice.
Postnatal yoga also works well as a one on one session as our teachers are on hand to hold your little one while you practise freely.
